The principle used by the ancients in the basis of the structure of the Pantheon

To understand the names of the gods and hypotheses about their functions, need to understand the logic of the ancients, the idea, inherent in the construction of the Pantheon of gods, then it will be clear of their functions and names.

Archaeological excavations in Kiev region near the village of Shumsky has shown that Vladimir’s reforms to the faith of their ancestors in the Russian Pantheon consisted of 12 main gods. Exactly the same amount of allocated main gods in the Vedas. The number 12 coincides with the number of months in a year, so a search was launched to study the remnants of astrological knowledge. This eliminates a sharp boundary between clergy and visitors. “Sanctuary” ceases to be something inaccessible and unseen. The tombs are placed directly in the temple, and not in a dark underground crypt, in the Romanesque churches. The Gothic dramatic, but not gloomy and not sad.

For example, the Paris Cathedral was dedicated, the mother of God and all that is connected with it; Amiens expressed the idea of messianism: on the facade the figures of the prophets. But the intensions of these fine theological encyclopedias were, in General, so vague and allegories are so conditional that under their protection they found the place wide variety of subjects and motifs, including very far from the Church’s concept of the universe. Under the hands of medieval stonecutters dead stone comes to life and blooms with thousands of flowers. Hard found history more organic form of synthesis of art. emerging on that basis. Underground structure of the Colosseum

When tourists come to see the Colosseum, they see primarily, a large number of walls of underground structures, archaeologists dug in the early nineteenth century (the ancient masonry began to show to the public only after more than half a century). Since there are arguments about when these buildings were built, they were built all at once or different times, which were appointed and could to held mock naval battle in the arena of the amphitheatre with the Colosseum’s opening in 80 year. However, before you delve into the essence of these disputes is to consider the characteristics and purpose of underground facilities which do not cause disagreements.

First, we note that the area of the underground amphitheatre exceeded the size of the arena, along the edges of this dungeon (with the long axis of the arena) was located roomy pantries. Furthermore, in the dungeon there was a corridor leading to the building of Lucius Magnus (“Big camp”), which was the training hall of gladiators. Of course, in the vaults of the amphitheatre was situated and lifting mechanisms to lift to the surface, through special hatches, cages with animals. These lifts were delivered to the arena and the setting for given representations (for example, on mythological subjects). Several mines, Continue reading
